The Producers, a comedy written and directed by Mel Brooks, is a story of accidental success in the pursuit of failure. Washed-up broadway producer Max Bialystock, played by Zero Mostel, works with anxious accountant Leopold "Leo" Bloom, played by Gene Wilder, to produce the play, “Springtime for Hitler: A Gay Romp with Adolf and Eva at Berchtesgaden” what should be a surefire flop and easy way to avoid the everpresent eyes of the IRS.
